Somewhere in America, I’m saving someone something. This blog is a record of my savings adventures.

This guy’s saving space in his bag, and time at security. Keep on savin’ on, brother.
Earlier this week I was confronted with a perilous situation that demanded my immediate assistance. One minute I was strolling through a park, and the next I was at the heart of a rescue attempt to extract a local cat from the upper reaches of a tree. I figured if I can save money, I can save a cat. It’s not just firemen who can save the day for distressed old ladies. This time The Messenger was the hero.
The laundromat is a great place to meditate. Or knock out a quick upper body workout. #tipsfromtheroad
Re-gifting. It saves time and money and the hassle of the mall. But if you’re gonna do it, there are some rules.
Before you re-gift, ask yourself: Is this a better gift for a white elephant party or your office Secret Santa? If it’s too good for a gag, it’s officially re-giftable to a family or friend. I’d start by at least taking the time to re-wrap it. If it’s still in last season’s paper or bag, double check to make sure you know exactly what’s inside. My cousin once got salt and pepper shakers, both pre-filled with pepper. Awkward. Clearly, a used re-gift. Ouch. Also, use a new bow. Last year’s sticky glue is so tacky (actually, it’s not tacky, that’s the problem). Finally, don’t forget to write a new gift tag. It’s not TO you, it’s FROM you. This is a common oversight and the end of many friendships. Good luck!
I’m not much of an airport man myself, why fly when you can cruise the great highways? But I do appreciate a good timesaving tip. And so does this physicist, who found the fastes way to board a plane. Personally, I would think sprinting down the ramp, into the aisle and to your seat is technically the fastest way, but what do I know.
